Dragon Ball Super Episode 94 Review

Warning: The following review contains spoilers for the episode.

It’s the calm before the storm as our team of 10 begins to assemble. There’s a strong focus on character interactions this week as we see Androids 17 and 18 reunite while Goku heads off to have Frieza resurrected. These many moments were exciting, but the general slow pace and lack of action did leave episode 94 feeling rather tame.

Android 17 hasn’t been a villain for a long time, but it’s great to see that as he is reintroduced to the group, there’s a sense of tension. When 17 first appeared on Super, it was clear they intended to keep his persona from his DBZ days. He’s a strong, stoic and very intimidating character, and that continues to show through as a good guy. Even his interactions with 18 showcase this as the two share a very fast paced, light on words conversation. It will be interesting to see how he and 18 perform in the Tournament of Power and if this is a sign that he’s to become a series regular.
